A game designer’s career progression is likely to look a little like this.
Internships are usually temporary paid work experiences which can range from a few weeks to a few months. In most cases, they are offered to students as a way for them to learn about practicing game design in professional settings.
Junior game designers are usually paired with more experienced senior designers who guide, mentor and grow the juniors.
Mid-level game designers will be expected to be able to execute ideas and own small features on their own.
